The Idaho Falls Chukars swept the third-place team in the league in a three-game weekend set.
In a 12-game homestand, the Chukars won eight games, and three of the four three-game series.
Sunday began with Boise plated two in the top of the first and on in the third, to lead 3-0. In the bottom of the second, INF Casey Vaughan had a bases-clearing single off of the rightfield wall to tie the game.
Boise would then take a 5-3 lead in the top of the third.
In the bottom of the fourth, C Ryan Lee hit his first home run as a Chukar in just his second game played for IF, with a solo home run.
Yet again, Idaho Falls used a big inning to propel themselves to a win. In the fifth inning, the Chuks put six on the board to take a 10-5 lead.
It was the seventh-straight game in which the Chukars scored six or more in a single inning.
RF Parker Lester had an RBI double to get things rolling and three batters later, INF Emilio Barrera doubled another pair in. After the third RBI double of the inning from SS TY Dooley, INF Casey Vaughan drove in another, his fourth RBI of the day.
Idaho Falls would add two insurance runs in the sixth with a two-run home run from OF Wes Mitchell, his ninth longball of the season.
The Hawks would claw back with two in the eight and three in the ninth, but would fall short, losing 10-12 to the Chukars.
On 18 hits, INF Casey Vaughan led the offense with his career-high day of four hits and four driven in. Six different Chukars had multi-hit days in their 10th win of the season.
On Tuesday, the Chuks will open a four-game set in Billings against the first-placed Mustangs at Dehler Park.
First pitch of game one of the twin bill will be at 5:05 PM.
