CHUKARS BIG INNING SPARKS COMEBACK
The Idaho Falls Chukars had their largest comeback of the season on Tuesday night, trailing 10-1 in the 5th inning.
What would unfold in the fifth would be a 17-batter, five hit, eight walk frame where the Chuks plated 12 runs to take a 13-10 lead.
INF Justin Trimble and OF Tyler Wyatt would go back-to-back leaving the yard as Trimble tied Canton for the team-lead in the home run category.
This was the second 12-run inning for the Chukars in one week’s time, and they have plated 19 runs in the last two games.
In the first inning, OF Sam Canton extended his hitting-streak to 17-games, the longest of the season. He would finish with his eighth three-hit performance of the year and has now had multiple hits in 15 of his 30 games played.
Trimble has homered 11 times in his first 11 games and has 24 RBI in his last seven contests.
LHP Julian Berinti would earn his first win of his career with one earned run allowed in 2.1 innings, leading a bullpen that would allow just two earned runs in 5.1 innings of work.
RHP Ryan Inouye would come out of the bullpen in the eighth for a five-out save, his first of his professional career.
This was the first time this season in which the Chukars won back-to-back games and will look for more against Great Falls on Wednesday, at 7:05 PM from Melaleuca Field.
All games can be heard on 980AM KSPZ the SportsZone and streamed on the HomeTeam Network.
